"What If" Ford decided to offer a 1939-40 Worlds Fair commemorative car? Could have been on display in the Ford Motor Company Rotunda building, and made avail to the public in very limited quantities. This one borrows cues from iconic big brother Continental. It also has a few tricks of its own- note the winged side grilles, hidden running boards, and boat-tailed rear. Most items are bolt on. However the rear clip would been custom fabricated. Perhaps Ford would have enlisted the Brewster or Budd coach companies for that work. Not a profit maker, but a splendid image maker for the "Blue Oval". |
